About me...​

I am married and have two grown up children.  All our family love Maths and all of us are musicians actively involved in teaching and playing. 

​

I have worked in a Primary school for the last 15 years, supporting and leading in maths teaching.  I have worked with small groups and individuals - both with those children who find maths concepts tricky to grasp as well as those who are `rapid graspers` and are looking to be stretched.  I have also taught privately with students in Secondary School in KS3 and up to GCSE.  I have a first class BSc honours degree in maths.

 

I have been teaching ABRSM Music Theory to Grade 5 for over 10 years in a 1-1 context. My pupils are often recommendations from local peripatetic teachers and parents of previous pupils.  I have taught children from Year 4 up to Year 13, including some with specific learning difficulties. I have taught pupils who play a range of instruments and have learned over the years how a pupil's instrument can impact on how they approach music theory. 

• I have a current first-time pass rate of over 96%.

• I have Grade 8 Trumpet and Grade 8 Music Theory.

• I play regularly in bands and ensembles.
